Watering Restrictions

From April 1st, through October 1st, we ask all customers to:

  • Water no more than three times per week.
  • Watering schedule:
    • Homes/business with addresses ending in even numbers may water on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
    • Homes/businesses with addresses ending in odd numbers may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
    • All customers should avoid watering on Fridays.

Security Water District Board of Directors approved an outdoor watering program that consists of watering stages. These watering stages will only go into effect when the stages are needed for supply, demand, or conservations. The District alerts our customers about our current stage and its restrictions by mail and by posting on our website (as mentioned above). You can read more about the District’s various watering restriction stages to the right.

The District's Role: Planning to Conserve

Using water efficiently is an important part of water supply planning for Security Water District. Although the District is small, its system of water supply is complex. Security Water District developed its first conservation plan in 2004. The plan is updated and expanded every seven years under the direction of Security Water District’s staff, with input from its Board of Directors and customers. The 2018 Water Conservation Plan has been approved by the District Board and is available for viewing to the right.
